Ministry of Education has released Term III schools closing date for the third term education school calendar ahead of the National Examinations for 2023
According to the latest statement published on Friday, September 15 2023 , The Basic Education Principal Secretary, Dr Bellio Kipsang, announced that schools will start examinations on October 30.
The education principal secretary Belio Kipsang asked all that parents to prepare accordingly as well as working closely with teachers to ensure smooth examination period for students.
While speaking, Kipsang asked all the field officials and institutional administrators that all school activities involving parents plus other stakeholders are not allowed in the school compound in term 3.
The PSC further added tht such a ban will allow for adequate preparations ahead of the National Examinations that are set to start on 30th October, 2023.
The PS further noted that the government had also put measures in place to ensure that learning is not interrupted during third term.
It was also promised that the government is ready t release all necessary capitation finances to schools to enable the calender to run smoothly without interruption.
“To ensure normal running of all school activities, the Ministry of Education has received Ksh16,249,982,722.28 Billion as capitation funds from The National Treasury for disbursement to learners in public Primary, Junior and Secondary schools.” the statement read in parts.
Kipsang stated that Junior Secondary Schools will be issued with Ksh1.75 billion as capitation funds as the Free Primary Education will get Ksh1.56 billion.
Equally, Free Day Secondary Education will receive Ksh12.9 billion in capitation program .
Kipsang also promised that these funds will be wired to respective school accounts by September 20th 2023 inorder to facilitate the smooth delivery of targeted learning activities.
