Teachers’ Latest Salary Increment Review per Job Group .
The Teachers Service Commission TSC has finally arrived into agreement with the various unions Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KUSNET) over the teachers’ salary increment review.
The groups met and signed an agreement to the 2021-25 CBA with the commission inorder to cushion teachers against new mandatory deductions and the high cost of living in Kenya.
Signing if the above agreement took place at the Kenya School of Government and it was officiated by the union’s secretary generals.
The above agreement on salary incremen carries two financial benefits which include:
a. Basic salary review of up to 9.5% for the lowest-paid teachers
b. a 2.4 percent salary Increment for the highest-paid teacher.
It was further agreed that the increment will be backdated to July 1st.
The agreement is expected to see the house allowances for teachers working in rural areas and small towns will further be reviewed.
Under the new CBA, the teachers serving at Teacher Grade C2 which is the entry level for graduate teachers will have a basic pay rise by up to Sh4,164.
Teachers at C3 will get kSh5,141 as the highest (DS) will earn an increase of kSh4,883.
Those teachers in rural areas and emerging towns are also expected to receive a house allowance rise of between kSh2,100 per month for grade C2.
On the other there will be an increment of KSh8,700 per month for grade D4.

The commission has also announced that all teachers will receive their salaries before the end of the month of August 2023.
Teachers will now start the third term with fresh energy in that there long awaited call has finally been answered by their employer.
