TSC TMEC Training For the Following Teachers Kicks Off across All Sub-counties .
The teachers employer, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has begun teacher training exercises various zones in their sub-counties countrywide.
The commission is aiming to do the training of teachers through the Teacher Induction Mentorship and Coaching (TIMEC) programme.
According to the commission, the mentorship and coaching programme is meant to improve teacher performance on their areas of work.
TSC requires that at least a school head, the deputy and one teacher are expected to avail themselves for the training.
Other sub-counties are yet to start the training but this must be done this week in all the Sub-counties.
Teachers who will attend this train will surrender their names to TSC headquarters Nairobi.
TSC had earlier revealed that the teachers who normally take part in the mentorship programme will have an upper hand whenever promotion opportunities arise.
Upon successfully completion of the TSC mentorship training ,teachers will be given a certificate that when they present themselves in a recruitment interview, it will just be for formality purposes since it gives themmmore credit.
The Commission has developed a frame work and policy to guide the programme.
According to the Commission a number of benefits and incentives will be awarded to teachers who successfully take part in the programme.
Teachers involved will be issued with a certificate of completion of mentorship and coaching programme which will be considered as an added advantage in promotions,teacher appointment posts or recognition rewards.
The teacher mentor and mentee willl earn TPD points as provided for in the TPD policy frame-work as well as the career progression guidelines.
