KDF national wide recruitment Centres August /September 2023.
Kenya Defense Forces KDF recruitment drive is expected to end on 8th September 2023 across all the centres in the country.
The recruitment exercise will comprise of general service officers cadets, some specialist officers,a number of Tradesmen/women,the general duty recruits as well as defense forces constables.
Requirements for recruitment
All the interested candidates must hold ;
- a valid Kenyan ID card
- have no criminal record
- minimum height of 1.6 Meters for men/male gender
- Have minimum height of 1.52 meters for women
- Have a minimum weight of 54kgs for men
- Have a minimum of 50kgs for women.
The advert also indicate that candidates will also be required to be between 18 and 26 years of age for GSO cadets as well as general duty recruits.
Those who wish to apply for specialist officers posts and tradesmen as Well as tradeswomen must be not above 30 years of age.
In addition, all the specialist officers and tradesmen and tradeswomen are expected to possess a minimum of two years of practical experience in their field of specialization as well.
Medical fitness is another key factor as well as healthy skin devoid of large or deep scars and tattoos.
KDF has also cautioned the public against engaging in any act of malpractices that influences the selection process.
The Kenya´s Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla while speaking last week said that measures have been put in place to ensure the recruitment is free and fair .
Ogolla further warned the public against attempts to join the military through the back door.
Ogolla further said that he would not want a soldier who has paid his way into the service.
He added that one will not serve how to defend your country if you paid to join
Ogolla also indicated that Kenyan military is progressively increasing the number of female officers, that is currently at 17 percent .
