Machogu Introduces New Strict Rules Days to KCSE 2023 Kick off Next week
The Ministry of Education through the Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has announced new changes that will be effected in this year’s Kenya National Examinations Council KNEC , 2023 jus few days to the start of the exams.
Acccording to Machogu who was speaking during the graduation ceremony at the Kenya Institute of Special education in Nairobi, Kasarani, all the morning and evening papers will be picked separately from the containers.
All the morning examinations sheets for students must be returned before the second lot is picked by the principals.
According to Machogu ,these method is going to curb exam illegularities by preventing exams from cheating.
Machogu further revealed that more examinations centres have been identified as one of the ways that will see improvement in the working environment for the teachers .
In this year, smart watches , programmable calculators as well as the blue tooth enabled devices will not be allowed in the examination rooms.
In addition no teacher or student will be allowed to have either handbags , pack bags or any other materials in the examination room.
The above strict rules apply to both kcpe and kcse students who are expected to start their examinations next week.

Form four students had their rehearsal day on 19th of October, as the first french and music examinations will start from 23rd.
Learners in standard 8 and grade 6 will have their rehearsal on 27th of this month as their examinations will also start on October 30th.

This year will mark the end of the 8 -4-4 system of education since the current learners in class 8 forms the last cohort.
The learners who are currently in grade 7 will transition to grade 8 in the year 2024 which is under Senior secondary
