The President of Kenya , William Ruto was spotted in the same room with controversial Worldcoin founder Sam Altman in the united states of America , USA
A video that is currently circulated online indicates that Ruto was seen walking into a room that Altman and other tech leaders were already inside.
It is revealed that Ruto shook hands with Altman ehen he into the room.
President William Ruto was accompanied by US Ambassador to Kenya by the name Meg Whitman among other state officers.
Ruto’s meeting with the world coin founder happened during the head of state’s visit to the United States of America .
The trip was planned to discuss on 2023 US-Kenya business roadshow in San Francisco, California.
It is taken that this is the first time the president is meeting after the Worldcoin activities made news headlines in Kenya, something that leadto the suspension of its operation in the country.
The data commission of Kenya indicated that the world coin company will be allowed to operate once it allows for a security audit.
It will also be required to to enable the government access to the data,ensures that it registers with the Business Registration Services (BRS) as well as establish a local representative.
In addition, the worldcoin company is required to carry out a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) and simplify consent and provide clarity on data storage.
According to the Worldcoin Chief Executive Officer Alex Blania who appeared before the national assembly, he indicated that the company has so far invested over Sh700 million in Kenya.
The above funds as indicated by Blania, have been utilised on blockchain and cryptocurrency education and ICT awareness.
Kenyans are now waiting to see the direction the world coin project is likely to take after the details of the meeting.
