Safaricom announces new M-Pesa fees
The updated M-pesa fee. Safaricom, a telecommunications firm in Kenya , has revealed increased charges for its clients.
The customers of Safaricom benefit from services that allow them to carry out a variety of transactions, for example transfers to M-PESA, withdrawals,as well as money transfers to other Safaricom customers and networks.
This telecommunications company announced additional surcharges for users transmitting between Ksh 151,000 and Ksh 250,000 on Thursday, September 20, 2023 .
The transfer fees between Ksh 150,001 and Ksh 250,000 will be charged at Ksh 108 to registered M-Pesa users.
The withdrawals will cost Ksh 309 and switching to an unregistered MPESA user would cost Ksh 318.
Now it will cost Ksh 108 to transfer the same money to Pochi la Baishara and Business Till Number.
With the digital transactions that take hold in the nation, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has boosted the daily mobile money transaction limit to Ksh500,000.
New M-PESA transaction limit was raised by Safaricom today to Ksh 250,000 per transaction, the company said in a statement.
This new decision adds a new transaction range for deposits, lipa na m-pesa, buy goods, pay bills, and all other transactions, hence ranging from Ksh 151,000 to Ksh 250,000.
Now kenyans prefer using mobile money for safer and quicker purchases, more than other African nations in popularity of mobile money transactions.
According to Safaricom, which is a Kenyan telecoms firm, periodically adjusts its transaction limitations to keep up with the growing significance of digital finance in Kenyans’ daily lives.
As the government organizations work to increase the security of mobile transactions in the nation,this telecom providers recently praised CBK’s move to examine transaction limitations.
