Teaching subject Combinations Banned by TSC
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) put a rejection on over 20 Bachelor of Arts and Science teaching courses for individual who have taken them as teaching courses.
Individual graduates who have done the named courses and are looking to enroll at TSC will now have to look elsewhere for employment opportunities.
Affected graduate students in these subjects should undertand that these subjects are not currently in the curriculum.
According to TSC updates on teachers registration requirements,an applicant whose training relates to subjects that are NOT currently on the curriculum will not be eligible.
This also applies to those Individuals who hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or advanced program.
In addition, the Tsc 2023 teaching requirements also indicate that individuals who have completed PGDE with these courses are NOT eligible to register as teachers.
TSC indicates that these subjects do not provide enough specialized content and as a result the mastery of content of the two subjects is not complete as required.
To ensure efficiency in teaching, the Commision granted an exemption, stating that holders of a Bachelor of Science or Diploma of Arts with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and two taught subjects are eligible to apply
