This happened in a closed-door meeting that was held between the teachers unions and the commission over salary review talks at the Kenya School of Government on Tuesday.
KUPPET opposed the new TSC salary proposal saying that it is below both the presidential directive and Salary Remuneration Commission advisory.
Acccording to Kuppet, the commission has proposed a salary of between 2.4 to 9.5 percent, with the lowest-earning teacher getting the highest percentage and the highest-earning teacher getting the lowest percentage.
However, KUPPET Secretary General Akello Misori Rejected TSC Salary Increment Proposal for Teachers saying that is far below their expectation.
This disagreement contributed to the unsuccessfulness of the meeting.
Misori said that TSC has presented and is even less than what the SRC gave.
Misori added that TSC is giving lower figures than what teachers out there expect and at the same time it is even below what the president announced .
Kuppet secretary general Akello Misori questioned why the commission came up with a new salary proposal when it was supported to focus on what President William Ruto and SRC had advised it to do.
SRC directed that teachers and other public servants will get a salary increment of between seven to 10 per cent.
Following the directive, teachers expected not less than that.
Akello wanted to know whether SRC was lying to teachers or the TSC was not being genuine .
