County Confirms All ECDE Teachers; New Salaries
The County government of kericho has officially appointed 1132 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers across its 30 wards to serve under permanent and pensionable terms.
As highlighted by County Governor Dr. Eric Mutai, this step will help to align with the regulations set forth by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
In the new ECDE scheme of service, the newly employed teachers who serve under Assistant ECDE Teacher 3 position with a certificate will receive a monthly salary of Sh.29,561.
On the other hand ,a newly employed ECDE Teacher 3 holding a diploma will earn Sh.40,000 per month.
Newly employed teachers with a bachelor’s degree in ECDE will receive Sh.49,000 per month.
The importance of qualified ECDE teachers in child development was emphasized by Dr. Mutai who also announced the creation of 65 additional ECDE teaching positions on a contract basis.
The expansion of the number of teachers aims to ensure that all public ECDE Centers within the county have well-trained teachers to serve Pre-Primary students at every ward level.
While giving recognition to the crucial role of ECDE teachers, mutai’s government expressed his commitment to enhancing their service delivery through revised terms and conditions.
The governor also revealed plans to introduce a school feeding program in all public ECDE centers as well as emphasizing the significance of nourishing young minds.

The governor further highlighted his vision of ensuring transformation public ECDE centers into well-equipped institutions of learning indicating that there is need for proper nourishment for healthy brains and pledged support for comprehensive feeding programs in all ECDE centers.
Kericho county is set to enroll 3,000 young individuals from various divisions in Vocational Technical Training Centers and then ensuring that there is empowerment of them with technical skills to create self-employment opportunities.
Among the key state figures who graced the occasion include Governor Moses Badilisha of Nyandarua County,who is a Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot,the current Kericho Woman Representative Beatrice Kemei plus other members of the County Assembly from the surrounding area.
